Mostafa (Moe) Gilanifar, Ph.D. has a diverse range of work experience in the field of data science and machine learning. Mostafa (Moe) has worked as a Lead Data Scientist at The AES Corporation since 2023. Prior to that, they were a Senior Data Scientist at Duke Energy Corporation from 2021 to 2023, where they developed advanced models to determine the impacts of renewable energy and electric vehicles on the electric power grid.

Before their role at Duke Energy Corporation, Mostafa worked as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at the Utah Smart Energy Lab from 2019 to 2021. Mostafa started their career as a Graduate Student Research Assistant at Florida State University- Quality Engineering Lab from 2014 to 2017. Mostafa (Moe) Gilanifar, Ph.D. has a strong education background in the field of Industrial Engineering. Mostafa (Moe) completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Industrial Engineering from Sharif University of Technology in 2011. Mostafa (Moe) then pursued a Master of Science (MSc) in Industrial Engineering and Management Systems from Amirkabir University of Technology - Tehran Polytechnic between 2011 and 2013.

In 2014, Moe began their studies at Florida State University, where they earned a Master of Science (MSc) in Industrial Engineering from 2014 to 2016. Mostafa (Moe) simultaneously pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Industrial Engineering specializing in Data Mining from 2014 to 2019. During this time, they also pursued a Minor in Statistics, which they completed in 2019.
