Rafael F. Velez

Rafael F. Velez, CFA, is the Vice President of Finance at The AES Corporation, where responsibilities include financial planning and analysis (FP&A), valuation, and insurance management since November 2018. Prior roles at AES Clean Energy involved leading strategic planning, annual budgeting, and capital transactions. Previously, Rafael served as Manager of Project Valuation at NextEra Energy Resources, overseeing solar and gas project evaluations. Rafael has experience in financial modeling and due diligence from earlier positions at AES and USAA, complemented by a B.B.A. in Finance from The University of Texas at San Antonio.
