Jeff Graf

Jeff Graf is the current Chief Business Officer at Aether Biomachines. Prior to this, they were the Senior Director of Business Development at Zymergen, Inc. from September 2017 to September 2020. In this role, they led the identification, negotiation, and account management of Strategic Partnerships for deployment of Zymergen's platform to optimize the economics of fermentation-based manufacturing.

Before joining Zymergen, Jeff Graf was an Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company from October 2010 to March 2017. As a thought leader and people leader at McKinsey, they managed multiple teams of consultants across a portfolio of clients and introduced new clients to the Firm within healthcare (IT services, Pharma, biotech and medical devices).

Prior to their work at McKinsey, Jeff Graf was a post doctoral fellow at UC Berkeley from August 2008 to May 2011. During their time at UC Berkeley, they authored several publications, including "Nodal quasiparticle meltdown in ultrahigh- resolution pump–probe angle-resolved photoemission" (J. Graf et al., Nature Physics 2011) and "Vacuum space charge effect in laser-based solid-state photoemission spectroscopy" (J. Graf et al., J. App. Phys. 2010).

Jeff Graf has a PhD in Physics from the University of California, Berkeley and a Master's in Physics from EPFL (École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne).
