Sarika Bansal

Sarika Bansal has worked in a variety of roles over the past 15 years. In 2006, they began their career as a Business Analyst at McKinsey and Company. In 2008, they joined Fullerton India Credit Company Ltd. as Senior Manager of New Initiatives (Microfinance). From 2012 to 2016, they were the Director of Partnerships at the Solutions Journalism Network. During this time, they helped develop the Network, build relationships with newsrooms and other stakeholders, and create written materials. In 2016, they became the Editor In Chief at BRIGHT Magazine, where they flipped narratives on social issues like health, education, and gender. In 2018, they became a Mentor and Editor at The Aspen Institute, where they provided intensive media and advocacy training for development experts from the global south. In 2021, they joined Afar Media as Editorial Director, helping to create and execute the editorial vision of the award-winning AFAR Magazine. Sarika also began hosting a podcast for Driving Change.

Sarika Bansal completed their undergraduate degree at Harvard University in 2006, earning an AB in Disease & Public Policy. Sarika then went on to pursue a Masters in Public Administration at Columbia | SIPA, which they completed in 2012 with a focus on Media and Communications.
