Santosh Narayan has a diverse work experience in the field of scientific research and development. Santosh is currently working as a Senior Scientist at Affini-T Therapeutics since April 2022. Previously, they worked at ElevateBio as a Scientist from September 2020 to April 2022.

Prior to their role at ElevateBio, Santosh held various positions at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. From January 2013 to September 2020, they served as a Senior Research Scientist, where they successfully conceived and obtained over $1.3 million in funding for gene regulation and reprogramming studies. As a Research Associate from December 2009 to January 2013, they significantly improved the efficiency of reprogramming human cells. In their role as a Research Fellow from December 2004 to December 2009, they developed inducible heterologous activation domains and tested their effects on nucleosome removal and transcription.

Santosh also gained early professional experience as a Production Intern at Merck from August 1997 to June 1998.

Santosh Narayan completed a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Mumbai from 1993 to 1997. Santosh then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Pharmacology and Neuroscience from UNT Health Science Center, which they completed from 1998 to 2004.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Santosh Narayan obtained certification as a Registered Pharmacist from the Maharashtra State Pharmacy Council - India in April 1999.
