The board of directors at Aflac has a long and varied history, with members coming from many different industries and educational backgrounds. Some of the previous experiences of the board members include being a member of the Board of Trustees and Chair of the Academic Affairs Committee at Emory University, Vice Provost Emeritus at Princeton University, Assistant Professor in the Department of Music at Columbia University in the City of New York, and Instructor/Assistant Professor in the Department of Music at Princeton University. In addition, the board members have also Managing Member at 1716SP, LLC, Board Chair at TIAA-CREF, and Managing Director and Partner at Goldman Sachs. The educational histories of the board members are just as varied, with degrees in Musicology from Royal Holloway, University of London, Music from Emory University, Finance from Golden Gate University, Accounting and Finance from UC Santa Barbara.
