Vice President, Natural Resources at Africa Finance

Taiwo Okwor has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in the finance and infrastructure sectors. From 2016 to the present, Taiwo has been Vice President of Natural Resources at Africa Finance Corporation, where they focus on investing in infrastructure projects across Africa, particularly in the natural resources sector. Taiwo'sresponsibilities include origination, structuring, and execution of investments across multiple sectors. Taiwo also has experience in evaluating infrastructure investments as an Associate Vice President at the same company from 2016 to 2020.

Prior to this, Taiwo worked as a Portfolio Manager at WestLB AG from 2013 to 2016, where they evaluated emerging risks in the debt portfolio and implemented work out solutions to preserve value. Taiwo also actively managed distressed debt and non-performing portfolios.

At WestLB from 2008 to 2013, Taiwo served as an Associate Director, focusing on debt financing of economic infrastructure assets across European markets. Taiwo worked on sectors such as heavy infrastructure and regulated utilities across various European countries.

Before joining GE Capital, Taiwo worked as an Investment Analyst in Corporate Finance and M&A at John Laing Plc from 2006 to 2007. Taiwo'sresponsibilities included analyzing acquisition opportunities and valuing infrastructure portfolios.

Taiwo Okwor obtained a Certificate in Investment Management from The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (The CISI) in 2006, specializing in Regulation and Investment Management. They also completed a BA Hons degree in Economics and Finance from the University of Exeter. In 2021-2022, Taiwo attended IE Business School, earning a Global Executive MBA. They are currently pursuing a Certificate in Corporate Direction from the Institute of Directors (IoD), which will be obtained in 2023-2024. Taiwo also holds additional certifications such as being FCA Approved and being a CFA Level III Candidate in the CFA Program, both obtained in previous years.
