Patrick Lumumba is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in capacity development and social performance management across various organizations in Africa. Currently serving as the Group Director for Capacity Development at African Guarantee Fund since February 2014, Patrick Lumumba has been instrumental in identifying and implementing capacity development programs for stakeholders. Previous roles include Manager-Social Performance Management at Grameen Foundation and Senior Programmes Officer at the Association of Microfinance Institutions-Kenya, where Patrick Lumumba developed strategies and coordinated significant initiatives. Patrick Lumumba holds an MBA in Marketing from Kenyatta University and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Sociology from Egerton University.

The African Guarantee Fund for Small and Medium Enterprises (AGF) contributes to the promotion of economic development vital for prosperity, stability and poverty reduction in Africa by enabling SMEs have increased access to financing. AGF has two lines of activities: the guarantee activity and the capacity building activity. Through our guarantee facility, we assists banks to partially cover the risks associated with SME lending and thus enable them increase their portfolio in that sector. Through our capacity development facility, we assist banks enhance their SME banking capabilities and thus be able to execute their SME banking strategies with ease.
