Margaret Njoroge has a diverse range of work experience in project management and grants management. From 2013 to the present, they worked as the Project Management Director at the African Wildlife Foundation, overseeing project tracking, annual planning, and staff performance assessments. Margaret also handled sub-contracting, procurement, and grant making, as well as budget tracking and compliance. Prior to this role, from 2009 to 2012, Margaret served as the Grants Manager at AWF, managing a $15m grant from the Royal Netherlands Embassy for conservation initiatives in Kenya. Margaret was responsible for implementation tracking, budgeting, and preparing reports for both AWF and the donor. Before joining AWF, Margaret worked at Catholic Relief Services - Sudan Program from 1999 to 2007, initially as a Grant Officer and then as the Grants Manager. In these positions, they managed USG-funded awards for various development activities and played a key role in work plan development, performance monitoring, procurement, and donor correspondence.
Margaret Njoroge holds a Master's degree in Planning, with a specialization in Urban & Regional Planning (Physical Planning), from the University of Nairobi. Margaret also has a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Sociology from Kenyatta University, where they had previously completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Sociology as well.
