Tommy Xiao

Tommy Xiao is the current Head of Talent at AfterShip. Tommy was previously with Square as a Recruitment Partner from February 2020 to April 2021.

At Square, Tommy was the first and only Canadian Business Recruiter. Tommy assisted in scaling the Toronto office headcount from 28 to 197 in the first 12 months. Tommy hired for roles in Canada, USA, UK, and Ireland. Tommy specialized in all positions that fell into business recruiting, including customer success, account management, sales, marketing, project management, technical writing, business analytics, international relations, and risk.

During their time with Square, Tommy recruited the entire Canadian Account Management team from 1 to 27 all within 2 quarters during COVID. Tommy successfully built out the team in full autonomy with a 100% contract acceptance rate and 100% satisfaction rate on candidate recruiting experience. Tommy also doubled the Canadian sales team in 2020 and hired the Head of Sales, Canada. In addition, they built out the foundational growth of Risk in Canada by hiring the Head of Risk, Canada.

Tommy was also the Co-Chair of the Asian & Pacific Islander Squares Community for Canada. Tommy consistently achieved and exceeded hiring expectations QoQ.

Tommy Xiao has completed an Honours Bachelor of Arts at the University of Toronto, double majoring in Criminology & Sociology. Tommy has also completed a certificate in Human Resource Management Essentials from the University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies.

They are on a team with Marc Bitanga - VP, Marketing, Eric Abrahams - VP, Sales, and Doron Feder - Head of Growth & Partnerships. Their manager is Teddy Chan, Co-Founder & CEO.
