Shamsah Virani

Shamsah Virani has had an extensive and successful career in various pharmaceutical companies and non-profit organizations. Shamsah is currently working as the Resource Development and Communications Director at Aga Khan Foundation USA since 2022. Shamsah previously held the position of Head of Marketing, Communications & Patient Access at Aga Khan University Hospital & Healthcare Network from 2013 to 2021. Prior to that, they held leadership roles in global marketing and sales in companies like Otsuka, PDL BioPharma, CV Therapeutics, Roche Molecular Systems, Roche Pharmaceuticals, Merck, and Elan Pharmaceuticals. Overall, Shamsah Virani brings over 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and has a strong background in marketing, communications, sales, and development.

Shamsah Virani completed their BSc Hons in Human Physiology from the University of Leeds, where they studied from 1987 to 1991. Shamsah then pursued further education at King's College London, where they obtained an MSc in Human & Applied Physiology, completing their studies in 1992.
