Richard Murphy

Managing Director - Energy Markets at American Gas Association

Richard Murphy has a strong background in the energy industry. Richard started their career at KeySpan, where they held various leadership roles in sales and marketing. From 2002 to 2007, they served as the Vice President of Sales & Marketing for the New England region and later as the Vice President of Marketing. In 2007, they joined National Grid as the Senior Vice President of Energy Solutions Services, where they worked until 2010. During their time at National Grid, they also served as a Senior Policy Advisor to the American Gas Association from 2010 to 2011. Since 2011, Richard has been with the American Gas Association, initially as a Senior Consultant and currently as the Managing Director of Energy Markets.

Richard Murphy earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell, where they studied from 1976 to 1980. From 1987 to 1993, they attended Northeastern University - Graduate School of Business Administration, obtaining a Masters in Business Administration with a focus on Marketing. Prior to their college education, they attended Arlington Catholic High School from 1972 to 1976.
