Chief Credit Officer at AgAmerica

Travis Stepro is the Chief Credit Officer at AgAmerica Lending, joining the company in January 2021. He has worked in financial services since 2001 and has been consistently engaged in the agricultural lending sector since 2005.

Travis grew up in southwest Indiana where his family-owned farmland and timber, were bought by his grandfather with money earned from Army Air Force service during WWII. His early childhood experiences established his appreciation for the land and also influenced his professional development later in life. In 2003, Travis graduated Manga Cum Laude from Indiana State University, where he earned his undergraduate degree and later his MBA in applied management from Indiana Wesleyan University.

While in graduate school, Travis worked as a Loan Officer and Commercial Credit Analyst for nearly seven years at the oldest national bank in Indiana. During this time, he gained professional experience in financial reporting and loan review analysis before moving up in his career as an Underwriting Manager at PNC Bank. It was here he established his leadership skills while managing the agricultural underwriting group. He was responsible for all new money and portfolio transactions in the business banking space and covered the bank’s financial footprint in the United States. Outside of his career, Travis also served as an FFA judge for National Farm Business Management and State Farmer Awards in 2018.

As Chief Credit Officer at AgAmerica, Travis brings an abundance of dedication and proficiency to the financial department that drives development and innovation for the company. Throughout his career, Travis’ work has been guided by the idea that opportunity manifests in both new and familiar places.
