Michael van Duren, MD, MBA has extensive work experience in healthcare management and consulting. Michael has also held positions as the Head of Variation Reduction at Agathos, where they facilitated cost savings for healthcare providers through data analysis, and Principal Consultant at Variation Consulting Group, LLC, where they focused on reducing healthcare costs by eliminating unwarranted care variation. Additionally, Dr. van Duren served as the Chief Medical Officer at Bay Area Hospital, where they implemented initiatives to improve quality, safety, and cost savings. Michael van Duren, MD, MBA has pursued a diverse educational background. Michael obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and Religion from Lebanon Valley College. Following this, they attended the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, where they earned their MD degree, specializing in Medicine. Later on, Michael pursued their Master of Business Administration (MBA) at the University of California, Irvine - The Paul Merage School of Business, focusing on Business Administration and Management. In addition to their degrees, they also hold a certification as a Certified Physician Executive (CPE) from the American Association for Physician Leadership®, which they obtained in June 2001.
