Jose Alfredo Caro has a diverse work experience in the field of scientific research. Jose Alfredo is currently working as a Senior Scientist at AgroSpheres since March 2022. Previously, they served as a Research Assistant Professor at Texas A&M University from August 2019 to March 2022. Before that, they worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania, where they conducted research on NMR relaxation, protein-ligand interactions, and calorimetry from December 2014 to August 2019. Jose also gained experience as a Biophysics Graduate Student at Johns Hopkins University, where they focused on protein folding, pressure unfolding of proteins, and protein electrostatics from August 2008 to February 2015. Additionally, they worked as a Research Assistant at UCSB, where they contributed to DNA-nanotube assembly projects from September 2006 to September 2007. Jose Alfredo also interned as a Summer Research Intern at Ludwig-Maximilians-University of Munich, Germany, in the Soft Condensed Matter and Biophysics Department, where they worked on the characterization of an artificial Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP) synthesis pathway contained within vesicles for drug delivery from June 2007 to August 2007. In their earlier career, Jose worked as a Research Assistant at LLNL, where they conducted nanoindentation experiments and data analysis on porous metals in June 2005.
Jose Alfredo Caro completed their Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree at Instituto Primo Capraro in Argentina from 1994 to 2003. Jose Alfredo then pursued a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Physics at UC Santa Barbara from 2003 to 2007. Following this, they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biophysics from The Johns Hopkins University between 2008 and 2014.
