WHAT IS ON OFFER 

Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for a Finance & Accounts Manager to join our team in Port Klang, Malaysia. AHK Malaysia provides services to the mining, metals, refining and recycling industries in a variety of capacities including auditing, supervision, sampling and analysis of metals and minerals derived from the previously mentioned practices. 

As part of the Senior Management team of AHK Malaysia, the candidate will be responsible for the finance function of Alfred H Knight (Malaysia) Sbn Bhd. The candidate will ensure the accurate and timely submission of management accounts to group standards, whilst also ensuring that anything reported is both consistent and adheres to local GAAP, group policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have experience implementing strong financial controls and working with operations and senior management to improve financial performance.

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES? 

To be successful at Alfred H Knight you will need to display the following: 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE 

  • Ability to work under pressure, ensuring compliance with deadlines, establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with department staff and non-finance staff

  • Strong technical and analytical accounting skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to comprehend and communicate financial data in a relevant and concise way both orally and in the development of written documents, reports and financial information.

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan, manage and prioritise workload to ensure all key deadlines are met

  • Ability to manage and develop direct report staff

  • Experienced in managing relationships with a variety of stakeholders

Required Qualifications 

  • Qualified CPA (or equivalent including CIMA/ACCA) accountant

  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Accounting.

  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant work experience in finance and accounting.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Applications.

  • Knowledge of taxation laws in Malaysia

  • Experience in integrating a new finance software package.

  • Experience in payroll.

Required Languages 

  • Fluency in English and Malay

Travel Requirements 

  • Local travel within Malaysia as per business requirements
