Vinaya Thimmappa

Vinaya Thimmappa has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. They are currently serving as the Director of Engineering at Ai Palette since May 2023. Prior to this, they worked at OpsVerse as the Head of Software Engineering, where they set up the India office and played a crucial role in building the entire authentication system compatible with oAuth2.0/OpenIdConnect. They also established a productive team culture, managed product and program management, and customer success.

Before joining OpsVerse, Vinaya held the position of Director Software Engineering and Senior Development Manager at Tact.ai from 2019 to 2021. They were responsible for leading software engineering efforts and managing development teams.

From 2017 to 2019, Vinaya worked as a Senior Architect at Rakuten, where they owned and led the effort to globalize the Rakuten-id platform, catering to over 150 million users across various Rakuten group companies worldwide. They utilized Cloud Native Technologies for this purpose.

Prior to that, Vinaya was a Software Architect at bigbasket.com in 2016, where they contributed to the software architecture. They also served as a Principal Engineer at Medlife.com from 2015 to 2016, where they led the development and testing of the "Medlife - All Things Health" app and managed a team for order and trip management implementation.

Vinaya's career began in 2000 at Hewlett-Packard as a Software Engineer. They then worked as a Senior Engineering Consultant at Ariba from 2006 to 2012, and as a Member Technical Staff 2, Developer at PayPal from 2012 to 2015. At PayPal, they played a significant role in the re-architecture of PayPal Offers and mentored a team of 8.

Throughout their career, Vinaya has showcased expertise in software engineering, architecture, team management, and product development, making valuable contributions to each organization they have worked for.

Vinaya Thimmappa completed a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E) degree in Computer Science from Bangalore University, with a duration from 1995 to 1999. Later, from 2001 to 2003, Vinaya Thimmappa pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Computer Technology/Computer Systems Technology from the Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani.

In addition to formal education, Vinaya Thimmappa also obtained multiple certifications throughout their career.
