Karen Baswell

Karen Baswell is currently the Associate General Counsel at AIG, where they practice in international arbitration, insurance and reinsurance dispute resolution, and commercial litigation. Prior to this role, they served as a Senior Attorney at Chaffetz Lindsey LLP and held a Senior Associate position there from 2009 to 2020 after moving with partners from Clifford Chance. Karen's early legal experience includes a Law Clerk position at the Queens County District Attorney's Office, where they focused on appellate briefs and legal research, as well as a Summer Law Clerk role at Clifford Chance US LLP. They hold a J.D. from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University, graduating summa cum laude, and have dual degrees in Chemistry and Theatre Arts from the University of Richmond, graduating cum laude.
