Dieter Veldsman

Dieter Veldsman is currently the HR Thought Leader & Subject Matter Expert at AIHR. Dieter was previously the Group Human Capital Executive (CHRO) for Momentum Metropolitan Holdings Limited from April 2018 to September 2021. In this role, they were responsible for the strategic direction of the HC portfolio aligned to business needs as well as managing the centres of excellence (Org Design, Talent, Assessments, Performance, Employee Insights, EVP, Learning and Development, Employee Relations, Remuneration); and Human Capital Technologies and systems.

Veldsman has also served as a Principal Consultant at inavit iQ from January 2017 to April 2018 and as a part-time lecturer at Southern Business School from January 2013 to July 2016.

Veldsman is experienced in anticipating issues and proposing solutions, as well as dealing with crisis situations. Dieter has managed an employee complement of 132 employees within the Human Capital division across multiple disciplines and operated effectively with limited direction while taking ownership of a budget of more than R100m across multiple regions and teams.

Dieter Veldsman has a certificate in Disruptive Strategy from Harvard University, a DCom in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika, a certificate in Business Strategy and Financial Performance from INSEAD, and a certificate in Business Strategies for a better world from Wharton Online. Dieter also has an M Com in Industrial Psychology, Human Resource Management, and Change Management from the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika, and a certificate in Strategic Business Management from the Graduate School of Business at the University of Cape Town. Their undergraduate degrees are in B.Comm Honours Industrial Psychology and B.Comm Industrial Psychology from the University of Johannesburg. Dieter Veldsman is also certified by the HPCSA as a Registered Industrial and Organizational Psychologist.

Dieter Veldsman reports to Erik Van Vulpen, Founder, People Analytics & Digital HR Leader. They are on a team with Julie Moore - HR Consultant & People Person, Paul Van Der Laken - HR Data Scientist, and Phil Strazzulla - Employer Branding & HR Software Specialist.
