The Position

We are seeking a Director of Accounting to join our team. This role will report to our VP, Finance. This position will contribute to our financial strategy and operations by leading our accounting and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting. This role is hybrid, with offices based in Brooklyn, NY.

  • Lead and manage AIR COMPANY’s accounting, including overseeing day-to-day operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective financial operations, including financial close, accruals, and reporting to the organization. 
  • Collaborate with the VP of Finance to support strategic planning and budgeting processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline accounting processes and enhance financial reporting capabilities.
  • Coordinate and manage the annual audit process, working closely with external auditors to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Implement new ERP or financial systems to support hyper-growth of the business

What you bring to AIR COMPANY

  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment is preferred.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills with a proven ability to mentor and develop talent.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar platforms.
  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Salary Range: $180,000-200,000
