Michael Roland

Michael Roland has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Michael is currently serving as the Chief Manufacturing Officer at Air Protein since May 2023. Prior to that, they founded their own consulting firm, Roland Consulting Services LLC, in March 2023. Michael also holds the position of Trustee at the University of California, Merced since August 2021.

Before their current roles, Michael worked at E. & J. Gallo Winery for a significant part of their career, holding various leadership positions. Michael served as the Vice President of Commercial Manufacturing & Engineering from August 2021 to March 2023. Prior to that, they were the Vice President of Central Valley Operations and Engineering from December 2018 to August 2021, and the Vice President of Engineering and Central Valley Wineries from January 2017 to August 2021. Michael also held the title of VP Engineering, Process Technology, and Lean Six Sigma from January 2010 to December 2018, and Vice President of Engineering from an unspecified date in 2004 to January 2010.

Before joining E. & J. Gallo Winery, Michael worked at GE as a Global Technology Leader from March 2003 to March 2004. Prior to that, they held the same role from an unspecified date in 1997 to 2003, focusing on Lexan Process Technology. Michael started their professional career at Great Lakes Chemical as a Process Technologist from January 1995 to December 1996. Their earliest recorded work experience was at W. R. Grace and Company as a Sr. Engineer from July 1990 to January 1995.

Michael Roland completed their undergraduate education at the University of Delaware from 1986 to 1990, obtaining a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemical Engineering. Michael then pursued further studies at The Johns Hopkins University from 1990 to 1995, where they obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Chemical Engineering.
