John Scribner has over 30 years of work experience in the field of component engineering. John began their career as an Equipment Technician at GCA Corporation in 1981. John then worked at Wang Labs as a Component Technician and Engineer, where they managed evaluations and approvals for logic, linear, and interface components. John also performed characterizations and documentation for advanced CMOS and ECL logic families.
In 1991, John joined 3Com as a Component Engineer, where they set up the Component Engineering function and supported three hardware design teams. John generated component standards and processes and drove cost and risk reductions through the evaluation of new suppliers and solutions.
In 1998, John joined FLIR - (Inframetrics Inc) as a Component Engineer and managed the Document Control function in the Engineering Department. John assisted with component selection and documentation for infra-red thermal instruments.
At Nortel Networks, John worked as a Senior Component Engineer and managed the Component Engineering function at the Remote Access Division. John provided support to hardware engineering in the selection, evaluation, and release of components for carrier-class access switch products.
John then moved on to Crescent Networks as a Principal Component/Commodity Engineer, where they managed the selection, documentation, and qualification of new supplier component solutions and technologies. John also generated complete product and component databases for edge router network products and set up the supply chain for prototype and pre-production builds.
At Azimuth Networks, John provided Component Engineering, Document Control, and New Product Purchasing services for the hardware team developing wireless RF test systems. John directed hardware designers in the selection of RF components, cables, and custom assemblies.
At Ericsson, John worked as a Lead Hardware Engineer and managed Engineering Services and New Product Introduction for hardware engineering. John worked with design teams to select component technologies and suppliers for edge router network designs. John also documented new component solutions, directed the development of PCB CAD symbols, and managed the quoting and procurement of prototype material for first prototype product builds.
John then joined Mintera Corporation as a Principal Component Engineer, where they provided component support for new product development and production of 40 Gbps transponder products. John attended new product development meetings, verified new component technologies, and documented special requirements for second sourcing. John also contacted suppliers for product status verification, design requirements, and qualification/reliability reports.
Currently, John works as a Senior Component Engineer at Airmar Technology Corporation.
John Scribner has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Southern New Hampshire University, an Associate of Science degree in Business Management from Northern Essex Community College, and an Associate of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Mount Wachusett Community College.
