Gareth Lowe

Gareth Lowe has over 13 years of professional work experience. Gareth began their career in 2007 as an IT Support Developer at Parasol. In 2009, they moved to ChoiceQuote Insurance as an Analyst Programmer. In 2010, they became a Developer at Swinton Insurance, where they worked on C#, ASP.NET MVC Development of new projects and maintenance of existing systems using CI and TDD/Agile methodologies. In 2013, they became a Senior Developer at The Sports Office, where they were responsible for new feature development, bug fixing, and client support. In 2015, they returned to ao.com as a Software Developer, where they were the technical lead and developer for multiple e-commerce projects. In 2016, they were promoted to DevOps Lead at ao.com, where they were responsible for delivery of migration projects from on premise to cloud, cloud platform design & development, and growth and development of DevOps engineering function. Gareth also held the role of DevOps Engineer at ao.com, where they were responsible for increasing uptime, reducing time to recover, increasing velocity through automation, bridging the gap between infrastructure & software development, and training infrastructure as code. In the same year, they moved to Sofology as a Senior Developer. In 2019, they became a Senior Technical Account Manager at Amazon Web Services (AWS), where they were responsible for infrastructure & operations strategy for large enterprises, solution & enterprise architecture, including architecture reviews and design. In 2021, they moved to cinch as a Senior Technical Product Owner. Gareth is currently the Director of Technology at Airtime Rewards.

Gareth Lowe graduated from the University of Sunderland in 2007 with a BSc in Computer Systems Engineering, specializing in Software, Engineering, and Design. Gareth also attended Wigan & Leigh College. In addition, they have obtained two certifications from Amazon Web Services (AWS): AWS Certified Developer – Associate in October 2020 and AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate in January 2020.
