Raymond Jones

Raymond Jones has over 12 years of experience in the software engineering industry, beginning their career in 2008 as a Software Developer at Touchlight Systems Ltd. In this role, they developed web-based systems for clients using a standard LAMP environment, and became involved in system administration, server management, and VOIP development. In 2011, they joined Visualsoft UK Ltd as a PHP Developer in an e-commerce environment, where they worked with Kohana v2, JQuery, and MySQL. In 2013, they moved to Purple WiFi as a Senior Developer, developing a cloud-based platform using PHP, Symfony 2 and Doctrine ORM, and integrating JQuery and other third-party solutions. In 2019, they joined Street Group as a Senior Software Engineer, working with PHP, Python, Go, and AWS infrastructure. Raymond then moved to Spectre as a Senior Software Engineer, where they advised on various microservices, approaches, and technology tools. Most recently, in 2020, they joined Airtime Rewards as Head of Platform Engineering, leading and managing a team of Engineers focusing on PHP 7.4 and 8.1 using a combination of Relational and Non-relational databases.

Raymond Jones attended Hartlepool College of Further Education from 2000 to 2002, where they obtained an AVCE ICT. Raymond then attended Teesside University from 2003 to 2006, where they obtained a BSc in Computer Studies, focusing on Computer Science.
