Joaquin Delgado PhD.

Joaquin Delgado PhD. has a long and varied work experience in the tech industry. Joaquin began their career in 2005 as a Consulting Member of Technical Staff at Oracle, where they served as the main Architect for Oracle Secure Enterprise Search (SES). In 2007, they co-founded Lending Club and served as CTO. Joaquin then moved to Yahoo! in 2008, where they held the roles of Director of Engineering and Sr. Principal Architect. In 2012, they were the CTO of AdBrite (shutdown 2013) and was responsible for leading the acquihire of adBrite Engineering team by Intel Media. In 2013, they were Director of Data Analytics and Advertising Platforms at Intel Media at Intel Corporation, Director Of Engineering at Verizon Labs, and Advisor at Fide PBC. In 2017, they were Chief Technical Advisor at akorda and in 2018 they were Director of Machine Learning at Groupon. Currently, they are Head of Music Search Platform - Science and Engineering at Amazon.

Joaquin Delgado PhD. obtained a Computer Engineer degree from Universidad Simón Bolívar in 1987-1993, specializing in Artificial Intelligence and Operating Systems. Joaquin then went on to receive their Doctor of Eng. from Nagoya Institute of Technology in 1994-2000, specializing in A.I. and Information Retrieval. In 2018, they completed a course at MIT Sloan Executive Education entitled "MIT Sloan Artificial Intelligence: Implications for Business Strategy". In October 2019, they obtained a certification from LinkedIn entitled "AI The LinkedIn Way: A Conversation with Deepak Agarwal".
