Matthias Koenning

Matthias Koenning, Ph.D., serves as a Senior Field Application Scientist at Akoya Biosciences, Inc., where responsibilities include supporting spatial biology applications, training over 100 scientists on scientific instruments, and collaborating on new product releases. Prior to this role, Matthias worked at Baylor College of Medicine as a Neuroscientist, leading investigations into the intersection of neuroscience and cancer cell biology, and managing various research projects that resulted in a peer-reviewed publication. Matthias also completed a Ph.D. in Neuroscience at the University of Melbourne, where research focused on white matter inflammation and axon degeneration, and contributed to multiple scientific publications. Early experience includes a Master Thesis at Klinikum rechts der Isar investigating glioblastoma cell migration. Educational background includes a Master of Science in Biochemistry from the Technical University of Munich.
