Chris Roddy has a diverse work experience with a focus on facilities and grounds management. Chris is currently the Senior Director of Facilities & Grounds at Akron Zoo since October 2021. Prior to that, they served as the Director of Facilities & Grounds at the same company since April 2019. Chris was the Buildings and Grounds Director at Brucemore, Inc. from December 2017 to April 2019. Chris has also worked as the Director of Facilities and Events Management at The Cleveland Orchestra from October 2015 to July 2017. Chris was the Director for Facilities at Vizcaya Museum and Gardens from April 2014 to October 2015, and the Visitor Services Manager at Kingwood Center from February 2012 to April 2014. Additionally, Chris served as the Buildings & Grounds Manager at the National Trust for Historic Preservation-Villa from July 2007 to January 2012. Chris started their career as a Historic Structures Specialist at Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens since August 2000. Chris briefly worked as a Project Manager at Progress Through Preservation in January 2007.

Chris Roddy attended Massillon Perry High School from 1988 to 1992. After completing high school, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Geography and Historic Preservation at Eastern Michigan University from 1992 to 1997. In 1999, they attended Belmont Technical College to study Building Preservation Technology for a year. Additionally, in March 2004, Chris obtained an ACM Abatement certification from the State of Ohio.
