Sveinbjörn Gizurarson

Dr. Gizurarson is a Professor in pharmaceutical sciences, clinical pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics at the University of Iceland, Sveinbjörn has extensive research and business experience in the development of nasal drugs, vaccine delivery systems, malaria, maternal health, and fetal medicine. He holds several patents. Dr. Gizurarson was one of the founders of Lyfjaþróun Biopharmaceuticals, a specialized nasal drug delivery company that initially focused on the safe and non-invasive nasal delivery of antigens and later focused on the delivery of rapid-onset nasal products. Dr. Gizurarson’s research is widely published, and he has served on journal editorial boards as well as on international government and academic bodies handling issues related to life sciences. Sveoinbjörn has a Ph.D. from the University of Copenhagen (The Danish University of Pharmaceutical Sciences) and held a postdoc position at the National Institutes of Health of Tokyo in Japan.
