Nienke Korsten

Nienke Korsten has a diverse work experience in the field of data analytics and science. Nienke started their career in 2010 as a Management Support at The Earth Collection Netherlands, where they gained experience in communication and international procurement. Nienke then worked as a SAS Business Consultant at Lacent BV, where they were responsible for producing reports for management decision-making.

In 2013, Nienke joined EOM Data Solutions BV as a Data Scientist and SAS BI Consultant. Nienke played a crucial role in providing data insights and consulting services to clients. Nienke also worked at Nederlandse Voedsel en Warenautoriteit - NVWA as a Text Mining specialist, utilizing SAS Text Miner to gather predictive information from the reporting system.

In 2016, Nienke joined Rijkswaterstaat as a Senior Data Scientist, where they worked on predictive analytics projects and provided prognostic HR management information. Nienke also advised the Chief Data Officer on data management and modeling. Nienke'srole also included restructuring financial data and acting as a stakeholder for SAS Advanced Analytics users.

From 2018 to 2023, Nienke worked at LeasePlan in various roles. Nienke served as the Head of AI Engineering, leading the team responsible for the development of AI solutions. Nienke also headed the Data Engineering chapter, overseeing three teams and managing the creation and maintenance of the Global Data Hub. Nienke also held the position of Data Science Lead and Data Scientist during their time at LeasePlan.

Currently, Nienke is working at AkzoNobel as the Domain Lead for Data & Analytics.

Nienke Korsten (PhD) obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Artificial Intelligence from University College Utrecht in 1999. Nienke then pursued a Master of Science (MSc) in Cognitive Neuroscience from Utrecht University, completing it in 2005. Nienke continued their education at King's College London, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computational Neuroscience in 2010. In addition to their formal education, they have obtained various certifications in data science and analytics, including being a SAS Certified Data Scientist Using SAS 9 and a Data Scientist with Python.
