Larry Chapman

Larry Chapman serves as the Deputy Commissioner at the Alabama Department of Insurance since February 2023, specializing in insurance regulation. Prior experience includes a sales role at Alfa Insurance from 2018 to 2023, and the founding and presidency of CSS Advisors, Inc., an insurance consultancy, from 2012 to 2018. Larry also held the position of Regional Sales Manager at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama between 2001 and 2012 and worked in sales in the pharmaceutical sector at Merck from 1996 to 2001. Early in their career, Larry taught and coached at Opelika High School from 1994 to 1996. Academic qualifications include a Master of Education in Leadership and Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Biology, both from Auburn University at Montgomery.
