Abby Wanyu Liu

Product Design Lead at Alaiko

Abby Wanyu Liu has a long and varied work experience beginning in 2012 when they were a Management Intern at Airbus. Abby Wanyu then moved on to a Research Intern role at Microsoft in 2014, where they focused on sleep tracking technologies. In 2015, they became a PhD Researcher at Télécom Paris, where they proposed a framework called Bayesian Information Gain (BIG) that allowed technology to challenge users to provide more information in the interaction loop. In 2019, they were a Postdoctoral Researcher at IRCAM, followed by a Postdoctoral Researcher role at Université Paris-Saclay in 2020. In the same year, they also worked as a Research Scientist at the Centre national de la recherche scientifique. Abby Wanyu then moved on to a Senior UX Researcher role at Celonis in 2021, and is currently a Product Design Lead at Alaiko since 2022.

Abby Wanyu Liu obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Informatics from Beijing Language and Culture University between 2009 and 2013. Abby Wanyu then went on to earn their Master of Engineering degree in Informatics from the University of Melbourne between 2013 and 2015. Finally, they completed their Doctor of Philosophy degree in Human Computer Interaction from Télécom Paris in 2018.
