Caitlin Ayer

Caitlin Ayer is an experienced librarian and educator currently serving as a Children's Librarian at Alameda County Library since March 2018. Prior to this role, Caitlin was the Children's Department Director at Books Inc. from June 2011 to December 2017, where responsibilities included managing book fairs, organizing author events, training staff, and conducting community outreach. Caitlin also coordinated a monthly middle grade book club and read weekly storytimes, fostering relationships with local schools through various programming initiatives. Prior to Books Inc., Caitlin worked as a Sales Manager at Borders, where responsibilities included staff management and merchandising. Caitlin holds a Master of Library & Information Science (MLIS) from San Jose State University and a BA in Literature from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
