Monique Mercier

Monique Mercier has a diverse work experience in various industries and positions. Monique started their career at BCE Emergis in 1999 as EVP and Chief Legal Officer and later served as EVP, Law & Human Resources at Emergis Inc. In 2008, they joined Emergis as VP - Legal & Business Development THFS, and then became VP - Legal & Chief Compliance Officer THFS in 2010. Monique worked at TELUS from 2011 to 2018, holding roles such as Senior Vice President, Chief Legal Officer & Corporate Secretary, Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer & Corporate Secretary, and Executive Vice President, Corporate Affairs, Chief Legal & Governance Officer. Monique also served as a Corporate Director at Innergex, Bank of Canada, Industrial Alliance Insurance and Financial Services, Alamos Gold Inc., and TMX Group. Currently, they are working as a Senior Advisor at Bennett Jones since 2023.

Monique Mercier pursued their education at the University of Oxford. From 1979 to 1982, they completed an M.Phil degree in Politics. Afterward, from 1982 to 1983, Monique undertook a Doctorate Residency specializing in Politics. Prior to their studies at Oxford, they attained a Bachelor's Degree in Law from the Université de Montréal, spanning from 1975 to 1978.
