Oliver Lemon has an extensive work experience in the field of conversational AI and human-computer dialogue systems. Oliver is currently the Chief AI Officer and Co-founder at Alana, a company that focuses on natural conversation interactions to enhance user experience and streamline processes. Prior to that, Oliver worked as a Professor at Heriot-Watt University, where they also served as the Director of the Interaction Lab. Oliver'sresearch interests include conversational AI, machine learning, Human-Robot Interaction, multimodal interfaces, and computational linguistics. Oliver has also held positions at the School of Informatics, Edinburgh University, where they worked as a Senior Research Fellow on spoken dialogue systems, and at Stanford University where they worked as a Senior Research Engineer, specializing in building multimodal dialogue systems and speech recognition. Oliver began their research career as a Research Associate in the AI Group at Manchester University.
Oliver Lemon obtained a BSc degree in Mathematics and Philosophy from the University of Manchester in 1992. Oliver then pursued further education and completed a PhD in Computational Linguistics from The University of Edinburgh between 1992 and 1995.
