Evangelos Maltezos

Evangelos (Vangelis) Maltezos has a diverse work experience in various industries. Evangelos (Vangelis) is currently employed at Alantra as a Vice President in the Financial Institutions Group (FIG) since December 2021. Prior to this role, they worked as an Associate in the same company from July 2019 to December 2021.

Before joining Alantra, Evangelos worked at Trastor REIC as a Real Estate Investment Associate in the Investment Management Division from June 2018 to July 2019. In this role, they were responsible for investment underwriting, financial modeling, project management, drafting investment memoranda, and developing business plans. Evangelos (Vangelis) also contributed to Greek real estate sector coverage and analysis.

Prior to that, Evangelos worked at PwC as an M&A Analyst in the Corporate Finance department from December 2015 to July 2018. Their responsibilities included participating in major transactions, particularly in the acquisition of a Greek NPL real estate secured portfolio.

Before entering the financial industry, Evangelos gained experience at The Libra Group as an Analyst in the Investment Banking Division from January to December 2015. In this role, they were involved in debt restructuring, evaluation and sale of non-performing and distressed asset-backed corporate debt portfolios. Evangelos (Vangelis) also worked on creating financial models and maintaining a database of Greek listed companies.

In the earlier stages of their career, Evangelos served in the Hellenic Army as an Evzone Guard, completing extensive physical and psychological training at the Evzone Guard Candidate Training School. Evangelos (Vangelis) then served as the Guard of the Presidential Mansion of Athens, performing ceremonial duties and parades.

Overall, Evangelos has a strong background in finance, real estate, and investment management, with experience in financial analysis, project management, and business development.

Evangelos (Vangelis) Maltezos obtained a BSc (Hons) in Economics from the Athens University of Economics and Business in 2011. Evangelos (Vangelis) then pursued an MSc in Finance & Economics at the University of Warwick - Warwick Business School from 2013 to 2014. Additionally, in 2012 they completed the Professional Qualifying Examinations in Shipping Finance and Shipping Business at the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers. Maltezos has also achieved various certifications, including passing the CFA Level I exam from the CFA Institute in 2019 and obtaining the Certificate of Proficiency in English from both the University of Cambridge and the University of Michigan in 2004. Lastly, they have a certificate in UK Financial Regulations from the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI).
