Tom Marrs, CSM, DTM

Tom Marrs, CSM, DTM has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning several companies and roles.

Tom currently holds the position of Senior Director of Customer Engineering at Albanero, starting in January 2023. Prior to this role, they served as the Director of Customer Engineering at Albanero from March 2020 to December 2022.

Before joining Albanero, Tom worked at Modis as a Senior Enterprise Architect from May 2018 to May 2019. During this time, they played a key role in a multi-million dollar Digital Transformation program at a financial institution. Their responsibilities included developing business and technical strategies, modernization, and organizational change.

From 2015 to 2018, Tom worked at TEKsystems as an Enterprise Architect. Their engagements included serving as the Enterprise Architect on a modernization project for Charter's MBO team, as well as helping development teams transition to a cloud-based, DevOps/CI/CD environment.

Prior to TEKsystems, Tom was the Lead Architect at LivingSocial from July 2014 to October 2015. Tom played a major role in the company's re-platforming efforts to a SOA/API based architecture and contributed to the development of API design guidelines.

Tom's earlier experiences include working as a Technical Architect at Perficient from March 2013 to July 2014, where they designed and implemented SOA/REST application architecture, and as a Principal Architect at Ciber, where they collaborated on the design and development of an e-Distribution website.

Tom also has experience as a Presenter at No Fluff Just Stuff from July 2001 to July 2014, where they shared their expertise in various technical topics.

Throughout their career, Tom has consistently demonstrated their proficiency in enterprise architecture, cloud migration, DevOps, and API design.

Tom Marrs, CSM, DTM has a strong educational background in computer science and information systems. Tom obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Science from the State University of New York at Oswego in 1984. Following this, they pursued a Master's degree in Computer Information Systems and Telecommunications from the University of Denver, graduating in 1999.

In addition to their formal education, Tom has also obtained several certifications that demonstrate their expertise in various fields. Tom received certifications such as "Digital Product Management: Modern Fundamentals" from Coursera in November 2019, "AWS Business Professional," "AWS TCO and Cloud Economics," and "AWS Technical Professional" from Amazon Web Services in April 2016. Tom also holds certifications such as "PSD (Professional Scrum Developer) I" and "PSM (Professional Scrum Master) I" from Scrum.org in October 2013, and "CSM (Certified Scrum Master)" from Scrum Alliance in July 2013.
