Gary O'Connell

Gary O'Connell has extensive experience in executive leadership, currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer of GOAssociates since January 2003. O'Connell held the position of Chief Executive at the Albemarle County Service Authority from April 2010 to July 2024. Prior to that, O'Connell was the City Manager of Charlottesville for nearly three decades, from November 1981 to April 2010, and also served as Deputy City Manager, where responsibilities included functions typically associated with a Chief Operating Officer. O'Connell began their career in public service as the Assistant City Manager for the City of Maryville, Tennessee, from April 1975 to November 1981.
