Aruna Bissonauth

Aruna Bissonauth is an experienced professional in the energy and environmental sectors, currently serving as Manager of Regulatory Delivery & Implementation at the Alberta Energy Regulator (AER) since September 2015. In this role, Aruna manages the Pipeline Safety & Loss Management System program, ensuring compliance with Canadian Standards Association (CSA) Z662 and enhancing safety for the public, pipelines, and the environment. Previously, Aruna held managerial positions focusing on industry performance and environmental compliance, including leading the first public releases of Water Use Reports. Prior to joining AER, Aruna worked at Shell in various engineering roles, including Process Safety Engineer and Operations Engineer, where responsibilities encompassed hazard analysis, risk mitigation, and water treatment system design. Aruna holds both a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, with Distinction, from the University of Alberta.
