Barbara Viers

Barbara Viers is an experienced food safety professional with a career spanning over two decades in leadership roles. Currently serving as the Director of Food Safety at Albertsons Companies since July 1996, Barbara oversees critical food safety operations. Prior experience includes the role of Regional Consumer Protection Manager at Safeway/Dominick's from July 2000 to February 2020, where management of food safety across seven states and the District of Columbia was key. Barbara is a nationally certified environmental health professional, skilled in conducting inspections, coordinating epidemiological surveys, and organizing food sanitation courses in adherence to state and national regulations. Academic qualifications include a Master's degree in Public Administration from Governor's State University and an earlier Master's degree in Public Administration from the same institution, along with undergraduate studies at Eastern Illinois University.
