Alice Jovanna Casanova

Director Of Digital Learning at Albizu University

Alice Jovanna Casanova, PhD has extensive experience in the field of education and digital learning. Alice Jovanna is currently the Project Director for a FIPSE Grant at Universidad Albizu, where they are leading a project focused on digital learning infrastructure and IT modernization. Alice Jovanna is responsible for providing training to faculty and students, offering instructional design coaching, and supporting students through virtual navigators.

Prior to their current role, they worked as an Adjunct Faculty at Universidad Interamericana de Puerto Rico, where they guided students through the process of completing their dissertations in the field of Distance Education. Alice Jovanna also served as an Instructor for various courses, achieving excellent results in assessments and evaluations.

Alice Jovanna has also held the position of Director of Digital Learning at Albizu University, where they organized and led efforts to support the institution's strategic growth in online and hybrid delivery.

Additionally, Alice has worked as a Peer Reviewer for the Online Learning Consortium, an Educational Consultant for their own company, and as a Project Director and Associate Professor at EDP University of Puerto Rico, Inc. Alice Jovanna served as the Institutional Dean of Distance Education at EDP University and was responsible for establishing academic programs and overseeing all academic activities for the distance education division.

Alice has also held positions at other universities, including Universidad Metropolitana and Universidad del Este, where they served as an Associate Vice-Chancellor, Acting Vice-Chancellor, Lecturer, and Associate Professor. Alice Jovanna has demonstrated expertise in licensing and accreditation, curriculum development, and faculty development.

Throughout their career, Alice has implemented alternative education methodologies and achieved excellent responses from students. Alice Jovanna is committed to providing high-quality education and supporting student success.

Alice Jovanna Casanova, PhD has a diverse education history. Alice Jovanna obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree in Business Administration and Management, General from Universidad del Este in the years 2000 to 2004. Following this, they pursued a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Caribbean University-Vega Baja between 2004 and 2007.

Casanova then enrolled at Universidad Metropolitana, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Teaching from 2007 to 2014. Alice Jovanna continued to enhance their teaching skills by completing a certificate program in Higher Education Teaching from Harvard University, which concluded in 2019. Additionally, they completed a certificate program in Docencia from CIESI- Centro Internacional de Estudios Interdisciplinarios in 2021.

In addition to their formal education, Casanova has also obtained several certifications.
