Ernest Artiaga

Chief Software Architect at Albora Technologies

Ernest Artiaga has over 25 years of experience in the technology industry. In 1993, they began their career as a Research Assistant at Fundación CIM, where they designed and implemented an integration system for factory devices. Ernest then moved to Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya in 1994, where they worked as an Assistant Professor/Research Fellow, researching operating systems and computer architecture. In 2002, Artiaga accepted a Fellowship at CERN and worked as a Computer Security Consultant. From 2014 to 2017, they served as a Senior Software Engineer at Midokura, contributing to the distributed MidoNet Controller Cluster. Ernest then moved to Schibsted Media Group, where they worked as a Software Engineer in the Engineering Productivity team. In 2019, Artiaga joined ALBORA as a Chief Technology Officer, leading the pivoting of the company from hardware to software, building a SaaS platform for high accuracy GNSS data. Ernest also served as the Head of Software Engineering, developing next generation Global Navigation Satellite Systems.

Ernest Artiaga's education history includes a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computer Science from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (2014), a Master of Science in Computer Science from the same institution (1994), and a Space Studies Program from the International Space University (2019). Additionally, they have obtained four certifications from Coursera and Coursera Verified Certificates: Principles of Reactive Programming (2015), Getting and Cleaning Data (2014), Functional Programming Principles in Scala (2014), and R Programming (2014).
