Pau Closas has held a variety of roles in the academic and research fields. Starting in 2003, they were a Research Assistant at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) until 2008, when they became a Research Visitor at Stony Brook University. In 2009, they began their role as Head of the Statistical Inference for Communications and Positioning Department at Centre Tecnològic de Telecomunicacions de Catalunya (CTTC), where they also held the roles of Senior Researcher and Research Associate. In 2016, Pau Closas became an Associate Professor and Assistant Professor at Northeastern University. In 2018, they became the Chief Scientific Officer and Senior GNSS Architect at ALBORA. Pau Closas' PhD thesis was awarded the EURASIP Best PhD Thesis Award 2014.
Pau Closas obtained an Engineer's Degree in Electrical Engineering from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya in 2003. Pau then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Electrical Engineering from the same university, which they completed in 2009. Finally, they obtained a Master's Degree in Advanced Mathematics and Mathematical Engineering from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya in 2014.
