Head Of Partnerships And Alliances

Customer Service · Full-time · Remote · Remote possible

Job description

Alcion, an AI-driven company, solves data management challenges faced by companies storing data in the cloud including disaster recovery, ransomware and malware threats, and compliance. We are building beautiful products, starting with the Microsoft 365 ecosystem, that have been designed to be very easy to use and deliver an “aha” moment to new users quickly but also have meaningful depth in their functionality. We have raised $29M in funding across our Seed and Series A rounds and are loved by customers all over the world.

Alcion is looking for a results-driven Head of Partnerships and Alliances with a sharp focus on building and growing our Managed Service Provider (MSP) partner base and driving revenue growth. We are seeking an entrepreneurial, self-motivated individual who thrives in dynamic and fast-moving environments, who has exceptional communication skills, and who has a proven track record in building successful partnerships.

The ideal candidate has experience with software infrastructure, ideally sold as SaaS, and knowledge of areas such as backup, DR, data protection, and business continuity. With strong communication skills, the candidate will work with all groups within Alcion, including leadership, and all our external partners. They will also have experience running partner programs and have demonstrated success with partner enablement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define our partner strategy and develop monthly, quarterly, and annual KPIs to track execution
  • Develop and execute strategies to recruit, onboard, and nurture MSPs and other resellers
  • Establish strong executive-level relationships with our key strategic partners
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales and marketing, to create partner enablement programs, joint collateral, partner value propositions, and joint GTM motions
  • Monitor and analyze partner performance, providing insights and strategies to optimize results
  • Represent Alcion at partner events and conferences, enhancing our brand presence in the market

Your Expertise

  • Minimum of 5, ideally 10+ years of experience in partnership, channel sales, or business development roles in the tech or cloud services industry
  • Strong entrepreneurial mindset with a track record of achieving growth targets
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Player/coach who can hire and lead high-performing teams
  • Highly organized individual, with the ability to plan, execute, and pay attention to details without losing sight of the company vision and strategy
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies, SaaS, and data protection solutions is a strong plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent work experience

It's a Plus if You Have

  • Direct experience with the Microsoft ecosystem and/or a strong background in backup technology solutions, understanding their market dynamics and customer pain points.
  • Work experience at early-stage startups
  • Experience running customer or partner advisory boards

About Us

  • Alcion is a distributed, remote-only team and currently spans multiple time zones. We try to work as asynchronously as possible but we do have many ways for the entire team to engage socially including virtual events and quarterly in-person offsites. We care a lot about culture and teamwork and we have documented what this means for you. Check out our company and engineering culture decks at alcion.ai to get a sense of what we value and reward.

Hiring Process

  • We start with a 45-minute online meeting. Assuming there’s a mutual fit, we run through an interview loop with 3-4 team members (45-60 minutes each). We will ask you to give a short overview about yourself and your previous work to the entire company so that interviews can concentrate on richer and deeper conversations and not repeat time doing resume reviews.
  • Once you are done talking to everyone on your loop, we will reach back out within a week with a decision. The offer process is straightforward and can be completed quickly (within a day or two if needed).
  • We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not tolerate discrimination in any form on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, national origin, citizenship, marital status, veteran status, disability, or any other classification protected by federal, state, or local law.

Company Benefits

  • While we have great (US) health, dental, vision insurance, unlimited PTO, 401(K) plans, hardware, home office, and internet allowances, stock option grants for everyone with early-exercise features, regular company offsites, and more, the best part of the job will involve the following:
  • Growth: We want you to only be limited by your skills and ambition. Alcion has the ability to accelerate your career, unlike anything you might have previously experienced. We are committed to your success!
  • Ownership and Impact: We give you independence and autonomy to figure out how to best meet your goals. We do not believe in micromanagement but do pay careful attention to results. We are a small company and you have the opportunity to make a big and externally visible impact with your work.
  • The Team: We are not only building a great product and company but also an amazing team. We care a lot about finding an amazing group of people for you to work with and giving them a great environment to get their best work done without distractions. There is a reason a number of us have been working together across multiple jobs. If you haven’t looked at them already, check out our culture slides on our website to get a sense of what to expect.
