Ben Valido

Ben Valido has a wide range of experience in various roles within the Ontario government. Ben started their career as a Senior Policy and Program Analyst in the Ontario Ministry of Consumer Services in 2002. Ben then worked as a Senior Policy Advisor in the Ontario Ministry of Tourism and Culture, focusing on the implementation of a tourism competitiveness study. After that, they served as a Senior Policy Advisor and Executive Assistant in the Ontario Ministry of Finance, specifically in the area of revenue agencies oversight.

In 2010, Valido joined the Ontario Ministry of Government Services, working as a Senior Policy Advisor in strategy development for the Office of the Corporate Chief Information Officer. Ben then transitioned to the Ontario Ministry of Finance, where they served as a Project Manager.

In 2015, Valido moved to the Ontario Ministry of Government and Consumer Services and took on various roles, including Manager of Policy and Operations, Director of Operations, and Director of the Strategy & Results Management Office. These roles involved overseeing the Ministry's mandate, collaborating with senior executives, and establishing a results management framework.

In 2020, Valido joined the Ontario Cabinet Office, where they were involved in the COVID-19 supply chain response as part of the Supply Chain Transformation Office and the Central Coordination Secretariat. Ben also served as the Director of the Supply Chain Transformation Office.

In 2021, Valido worked for the Ontario Government as the Director of Corporate Transition, followed by their role as Chief of Staff and Communication Lead at Supply Ontario in 2022.

Most recently, Valido has been appointed as the Director of Strategic Policy at the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, starting in 2023.

Throughout their career, Valido has demonstrated their ability to work in various government sectors, contribute to strategic decision-making, and manage complex projects.

Ben Valido completed a program in project management at the Schulich School of Business - York University in an unknown year, but this program likely ended in 2008. Before that, they attended Seneca College and studied business/corporate communications, completing this program in 2002. Finally, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and Sociology from York University in 2001.
