P.eng. Michael Ghobros M.eng.

Michael Ghobros, P.Eng., M.Eng., PMP has a diverse work experience spanning across various industries and roles. Currently, they serve as the Director, Technology Regulation and iGaming Compliance at The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario. Prior to this, they held the position of Director and Deputy Registrar, Technical and Laboratory Services at the same organization.

Alongside their work at the Commission, Michael Ghobros is the Director on the Board of Directors at Partners In Health Canada. Michael also holds the role of Adjunct Professor at Humber College.

In terms of corporate experience, Michael Ghobros has held significant positions at companies such as SOTI, where they served as the Director of Global Professional Services. At Deluxe Corporation, they held the role of Director, Global Professional Services & PMO, where they were responsible for global project delivery and establishing the PMO.

As an independent consultant, Michael Ghobros has worked with notable organizations like GSK, where they led and managed a team for technology and program management. Michael also served as an independent consultant at The TJX Companies, Inc., where they developed a Business Intelligence Reporting System.

Additionally, Michael Ghobros has worked with BGIS as an independent consultant, implementing frameworks and achieving Microsoft Gold Certified partner status. Michael also held the position of Manager, Software Development at Softchoice.

Michael Ghobros, P.Eng., M.Eng., PMP, has a diverse and extensive education history. Michael began their studies in 1993 at Alexandria University, where they earned a B.Sc. in Computer Science from the Faculty of Engineering in 1998.

In 2002, Michael enrolled in Carleton University, where they pursued a Master of Engineering in Technology Innovation Management with a focus on Systems and Computer Engineering. Michael completed this degree in 2006 and concurrently obtained their Professional Engineer certification from Professional Engineers Ontario, becoming a registered Professional Engineer in Ontario.

In addition to their formal education, Michael has also acquired several certifications and professional development courses throughout their career. These include the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute in 2010, the PRINCE2 Foundation Certification Training from The TJX Companies, Inc. in the same year, and the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification from Softchoice in 2007.

Furthermore, they have obtained various technology certifications, including the Microsoft Certified Solution Developer: Microsoft .NET (MCSD.NET) from Microsoft in 2004 and the MCP in Developing Applications with C++ Using the Microsoft Foundation Class Library from Microsoft in 1999.

In recent years, Michael has focused on enhancing their leadership and coaching skills, obtaining certifications such as the Reregistered Corporate Coach (RCC) from The Worldwide Association of Business Coaches (WABC) in 2021 and the Executive Presence on Video Conference Calls certification from LinkedIn in the same year.
