Nathan Lewis is an accomplished optics professional with extensive experience in optical design and engineering. Currently serving as the Director of Optics at Alcon since August 2019, Nathan previously held positions at PowerVision, Inc. as a Principal R&D Engineer and Sr. Optics Engineer, where responsibilities included enhancing the optical performance of accommodating intraocular lenses (IOL). Earlier roles included Optical Engineer at Key Technology, Inc., focusing on machine vision systems, and Graduate Research Associate at the College of Optical Sciences, University of Arizona, where Nathan completed a Ph.D. on corneal topography measurements. Nathan also possesses a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Utah State University and has a background in training technicians and developing calibration processes for infrared sensors.
