Sarah Makari

Sarah Makari is an accomplished Senior Principal Clinical Project Manager at Alcon, specializing in clinical research and development for ophthalmic devices. Since August 2020, Sarah has led various clinical trials and bench studies to ensure device safety and performance, contributing to regulatory approvals across multiple global markets. With a strong background in clinical research, evidenced by prior roles as Lead Clinical Research Scientist at Science in Vision Consultant and Senior Clinical Research Scientist at Johnson & Johnson Surgical Vision Consultant, Sarah has co-authored numerous publications and played a key role in the design and execution of clinical protocols. Earlier experience includes providing optometric care as an Optometric Physician and completing clinical externships at prestigious institutions, further enriching expertise in ophthalmic practices and research methodologies. Sarah holds a Doctoral Optometry and Bachelor of Science in Vision Science from Nova Southeastern University, and a background in Integrated Science from The University of British Columbia.
