Daniel Gulbranson is a highly experienced scientist specializing in cell biology and neurodegenerative disease research. Currently serving as a Staff Scientist at Alector since December 2021, Daniel leads initiatives in iPSC group leadership and CRISPR screening, enhancing iPSC-derived model applications and standard operating procedures. Previously, Daniel was a Postdoctoral Scholar at Gladstone Institutes, focusing on drug target discovery and validation for neurodegenerative diseases. Daniel earned a Ph.D. in Cell Biology from the University of Colorado Boulder, where research included the innovative use of CRISPR screens to identify GLUT4 trafficking mediators. An earlier role as an Associate Researcher at the University of Wisconsin-Madison contributed to the formulation of E8 medium for stem cell culture.
