Jessie Carr

Associate Director - Regulatory Strategy at Alector

Jessie Carr has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Currently, they are working as an Associate Director of Regulatory Strategy at Alector, a position they have held since March 2023. Prior to this, Jessie worked as a Senior Manager of Regulatory Strategy at Alector from August 2021 to February 2023.

Before joining Alector, Jessie worked at Genentech from 2018 to 2021. During their time at Genentech, Jessie held various roles, including Program Manager of Product Development Regulatory from August 2020 to August 2021, Associate Program Manager of Product Development Regulatory from May 2019 to July 2020, and Program Management intern of Product Development Regulatory from November 2018 to May 2019.

Jessie's earlier experience includes working as a Postdoctoral Fellow at UCSF Memory and Aging Center from September 2017 to September 2018, where they conducted research on the genetic risk contributions of immune modulatory regions in Alzheimer's and other neurodegenerative diseases. They also worked as a PhD candidate at the Gladstone Institutes from September 2012 to August 2017, focusing on the genetic contribution of the HLA region to Alzheimer's Disease and investigating therapeutic compounds.

Additionally, Jessie worked as an Undergraduate Researcher at the University of Michigan from June 2010 to May 2011 and as a Summer Intern in the Translational Medicine Department at OncoMed Pharmaceuticals in June 2009.

Jessie Carr began their education at the University of Michigan, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering. Afterwards, they enrolled at UCL to study Classical Studies, although the specific dates of this program are unknown. Subsequently, Jessie joined the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Pharmacogenomics, completing their studies in 2017. Later, in 2017 and 2018, Jessie also engaged in the Training in Clinical Research (TICR) Program Coursework offered by UCSF.
