Mercedes Mayer

Mercedes Mayer has an extensive work experience history starting in 2003 as a Sports Reporter for the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. In this role, they were responsible for game coverage, breaking sports news, and enterprise sports stories. Mercedes then moved on to work as a Sports Stringer for The Associated Press from 2009 to 2013. At the same time, they also worked as the District 92 Director for the Texas House of Representatives, managing constituent inquiries and planning meetings. In 2013, they joined the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce as the Manager of Domestic and International Recruitment, providing support for economic development and updating their website. Mercedes concurrently worked as a Communications Coordinator for Arlington ISD, where they curated various messaging materials and served as the primary writer for the district. Currently, they hold the position of Director of Communications at Aledo ISD, which they started in 2020.

Mercedes Mayer attended The University of Texas at Austin from 1998 to 2003, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Journalism.
